After seeing all the amazing hairstyles at the Golden Globes this weekend I wanted to pick a few of my favorites for us to talk about. The Golden Globes are one of the most talked about awards shows based on style and hair. Of course I couldn’t resist the temptation to make my own judgements. I thought it would be good to show you some of the looks that are achievable for all of you at home.

New Beginings

Hey all!

I wanted to take the time to fill you in on all of the changes around our salon.

As many of you probably know, we are fully underway with our rennovations. They are scheduled to be done by the end of this week, and it is starting to look great! We hope you guys enjoy the changes just as much as we do, and we thank you all for your patience during this time. One of the most exciting features for our guests will be our new shampoo chairs. I know the relaxation you receive at the salon is one of the best parts of your experience, and coming soon, we will have brand new state of the art shampoo bowls. They are top of the line in the salon industry giving you the most comfort, and allows you to relax while your head is supported ergonomically.

We also have our new booking system up and running. You can not book on our website at www.tanyasimage.com or on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/tanyasimage. We are currently promoting 15% off your first appointment booked online. Through our booking system you can see descriptions of services. Feel free to look around and check out some of the new features. We will also be starting confirmation calls from email or text messages. If you are not already set up and would like to be, you may make a login on our booking site, or call the front desk and they will gladly set you up. Our new confirmations will still be sent out two days before hand. Make sure if you receive emails, you click the link to confirm it, so you do not receive a call on top of your email.

Thanks again for being patient during this time, we hope you enjoy all of our great new features. We are hoping to have a grand re-opening after the holidays to show off our new space, and have an information session about the new booking system. We will send out new information when the time is closer.

We just started our new journey with Nail Art! Samantha is now offering designs with her manicures and/or pedicures. She has a complete collection of some pretty fun designs. Our prices start at $27, which includes two nails with your choice of art. Each nail after that is $3.00/nail. Check out some of the great designs Samantha has been working on below.

Yonka Training

Our wonderful aetheticians had a YONKA educator, Ildiko Krajnyak, in from Hungary for training! Ildiko is responsible for developing the sales of YONKA products by educating and inspiring spa technicians in the use of the YONKA menu of treatments through friendly teaching methods. She offers on-site trainings for existing accounts and prospects in addition to preparing and facilitating custom on-site education programs for large resorts and day spa’s.

Ildiko was such a great educator. She taught our staff in Hyde Park how to mix certain products to get better results. Not only did she teach them the ways of Yonka, she also taught them great selling points as well as how to become better in a business aspect. Feather Extensions!

Hey everyone!

Originally we had REAL feather extensions from REAL birds. We had them for a short week or so when we found out those feathers come from birds who are euthanized just for their feathers. Based on our beliefs here at Tanya’s we did not like the fact that we had to kill birds in order to get ourselves beautiful.

After extensive research we finally found feathers with the same effect where we do not have to harm our birds. These new feathers are rooster friendly. The feathers are just as beautiful as our old ones, and they have nearly the same look and feel.

Pros:

Cruelty Free (these extensions are completely man made).
These extensions typically last 6-8 weeks with good care and maintenance.
All extensions are 14 inches long and can be cut shorter if needed.

Cons:

These extensions can still be treated as regular hair, but it is recommended when flat ironing and curling you use LOW heat. They can be blow dried and washed with your daily to weekly routine.
